Meeni Tseng
Hello, I’m Meeni, a senior at VIS. I am truly honored to serve as the Secretary-General for VISMUN I!
I began my Model United Nations journey in 9th grade, and since then, it has become a meaningful part of my high school experience. When I first started, I was not very confident speaking in front of others, but through participating in conferences, debates, and discussions, I gradually became more comfortable expressing my ideas. Throughout my MUN journey, I have also had the opportunity to meet many passionate individuals. The friendships and connections formed through MUN have made the experience even more memorable and rewarding.
Beyond MUN, I enjoy snowboarding and traveling, as they allow me to explore new places, experience different cultures, and challenge myself in new environments.
I hope to help create a welcoming, engaging, and enriching conference experience for all participants. I look forward to meeting everyone and seeing you all at VISMUN I!
Sharon Hsiao
Hello! I’m Sharon, a senior at VIS, and it is a great honor to serve as your Deputy Secretary-General of Committees at VISMUN I.
I began my MUN journey in 10th grade, and over time I’ve grown from a reluctant speaker into someone who actively engages in debate and global issues. Beyond the skills I’ve developed, I’ve also formed lasting friendships and connected with individuals who share a passion for diplomacy and international affairs. Outside of MUN, I’m a passionate artist and game developer.
I’m very grateful for this opportunity to serve on a secretariat team for the first time and hope to make VISMUN a valuable experience for all of you. I look forward to seeing you at VISMUN I!
Sunny Huang
Honorable chairs and esteemed delegates,
my name is Sunny Huang, and I am honored to serve as the Deputy Secretary-General of Delegation for the first VISMUN conference.
I began my MUN journey in tenth grade with curiosity and a quiet determination to challenge myself. Over time, what started as a slight interest in debate grew into a deeper fascination with global affairs, public opinion, and trends. Through each conference, I’ve learned that Model UN isn’t all about debating or policymaking, but about the collaboration between delegates and the process of continually adjusting opinions based on mutual understanding. What MUN taught me is about standing up, speaking out, despite your voice shaking and your brain filled with uncertainty.
Beyond MUN, I am passionate about research and understanding how systems shape societies. This drove me to enroll in a Boston University International Relations program during last summer, where I spent much of my time exploring questions about politics and communication. In my daily life, I also find balance in creativity and discipline, whether through playing the flute, crocheting, or training at the gym. These experiences remind me that growth is multidimensional: intellectual, creative, and personal.
Serving as DSG of Delegation allows me to combine these passions. I hope to help our delegates sharpen their skills, strengthen their confidence, and aim higher than they thought possible.
I look forward to an incredible conference with all of you.
Samuel Hsu
Hi, my name is Samuel, and I’m currently a junior at VIS, where I serve as the Deputy Secretary-General of Finance for VISMUN. In this role, I manage all financial matters related to the conference.
Outside of MUN, I’m passionate about music production and DJing, and I enjoy playing strategic games like chess and draughts. I founded both the DJ Club and the Draughts Club at our school to share these interests with others. As a fifth-time national draughts player, I’ve had the honor of representing Taiwan in international competitions. I’ve also performed as a DJ at school proms and various events.
In addition to my leadership roles, I’ve previously participated in several conferences as a delegate. I’m especially looking forward to a conference that helps beginners build confidence and find their voice.
Francis Lin
Hii, my name is Francis, and I am currently a junior at VIS serving as the Deputy Secretary-General of Finance for VISMUN. I am honored to be part of this conference and to contribute to its organization and development. Beyond Model United Nations, I am particularly interested in mathematics and interdisciplinary studies, especially in areas where quantitative thinking can be applied to real world social issues. I value collaboration and careful planning, and I believe that strong organization plays an important role in creating meaningful experiences for participants. As DSG of Finance, I hope to help ensure that VISMUN runs smoothly and sustainably. I look forward to seeing delegates engage in thoughtful debate, develop new perspectives, and build connections through this conference!
Serena Liao
Hi everyone! My name is Serena Liao, and I am currently a junior in VIS! As the head of the media team, I organized everything related to promoting this event. The stickers, placards, and everything that is media-related were all made by me. That being said, if you have any questions regarding the event, you could also slide into our Instagram DMs and ask me.
I think this event is a great chance for anyone interested in debating global issues. You will face realistic challenges and be tasked to solve them together with others. This can definitely be a way for you to improve your English and debate skills. Hopefully, I will see you guys at the conference from March 28th to 29th! See you soon!
